Nostalgia Albums Project

Special ProjectDesign

Something that has always given me comfort or calmness, as I slog away at my daily routines, is listening to classic video game soundtracks.

I didn't play heaps of video games as a kid, but over the years the ones that I did play I played a lot, and they add up!

I love the soundtracks, they give me joy to listen to, but there was a problem I had - accessing those old tracks isn't the easiest feat. They're not readily available on Spotify or Apple Music, and YouTube is riddled with ads these days which really kill the vibe when you're trying to listen to some good tracks.

The solution? Apple Music is linked to your iTunes, so anything you have loaded onto there will sync with your phone, and if you have custom albums, then they will play without a hitch. It's modern day mix taping baby!

All it took was a bit of software called MP3Tag and my imagination, and I could create any album I wanted. Oh you want the full soundtrack to Madagascar PS2? Have at it! You hungry for them Cyclomaniacs tracks? Here you go! How about Rugby 2006? Or Club Penguin? Or Spy Vs Spy? We got them all!

The other thing that I got to do is assign album art! Some were obvious images to crop, but some were complete redesigns to fit the theme! All of them processed, tagged, organised and added to my Apple Music.

This was a great little project, it gave me so much joy, I even found a way to utlise this project for my wedding receiption! In a few years I imagine there will be new games for me to update - can't wait for Zelda 2 by the way.
