A phone call from Ben MacGregor is always a good day! This song is an absolute bop, with a brilliantly simple message. With a limited budget available for the video, an opportunity to experiment with simple ai image generation became very exciting.
I was provided with some simple graphics for the main character - Vai, as well as Jesus and some titles and backgrounds. From there, I used DALL-E 2 to create the patterns that would build up scenes such as the treasure cave and the ocean. DALL-E 2 was still in it's early stages, so choosing to go with a pixel theme for the animation was the perfect way to disguise some of the flaws in it's system at the time, I was really happy with the final result.
